Has your business opened or started a new location recently? Foursquare has released an update for the iPhone which allows users to see businesses that have opened recently nearby. Simply tap on Explore and you’ll see the Recently Opened button.
If you’re just opening your business or opening a new location, jump on this feature immediately and make sure that your business has a profile within Foursquare. If you don’t already have a profile, go to http://business.foursquare.com and click on Get Started Now. This will start your process to create or claim your business listing. You will first need to create a personal profile, if you don’t have one already.
Once you are logged in, do a search for your business. Even if you have never created a business profile, it’s possible that someone else did in the process of checking in, so search for your business name. If you find it, you’ll have an opportunity to claim that business.
If you can’t find your business already, you’ll need to Add a New Location. The link will be at the bottom of your search results. You will then be prompted to enter more detailed business information like address and Twitter handle.
