Buffer Mobile App Adds Google+ Support

You are here: Home / Social Media Articles / Buffer Mobile App Adds Google+ Support

August 28, 2013 //  by Mike Allton

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A week ago, the social media scheduling tool Buffer added support for Google+ Pages through a limited Beta test, meaning that Google+ Page owners can now use Buffer to set a pre-defined schedule and then set up posts to be shared on that schedule. Now, Buffer has not only made that feature available to everyone, but has also released an update to their mobile app that integrates the new feature.

With this update, Buffer users can connect their Google+ Page directly through the app, adjust the schedule for their Page, add new posts and even check their analytics. The update also adds the option of connecting Facebook Pages through the app.

One other great feature that’s been added is that Buffer users can check their analytics and see their Top Posts. The analytics offered by Buffer is one of the key reasons I consider it a killer app – not only can you schedule posts to be shared on a preset schedule, but you can also see how those specific posts performed and duplicate your most successful ones.

Once you have your Google+ Page connected and have shared some posts, open your Buffer app, select your Google+ Page, and tap on the Analytics button (the three bar chart). You will see your posts in reverse chronological order and each post will indicate how many clicks it received, comments, +1’s and shares. Posts that received higher levels of engagement will be marked with the green “Top Post” label for easy reference.

If you haven’t yet signed up for a Buffer account (http://www.bufferapp.com), or connected your Google+ Page, I strongly recommend that you do so. For some initial ideas on how you should schedule your posts, check out When is the Best Time to Post to Social Media?
