In an update to their mobile apps, Twitter has resolved an issue that’s been annoying Twitter users for years. Now, when you read a Direct Message on your mobile device, it will be marked as read in all of your other official Twitter apps, including Twitter for iOS, Twitter for Android, mobile.twitter.com, Twitter.com, Twitter for Mac and TweetDeck. When you read a Direct Message within any of the official apps, it will be marked as read on your mobile device.
The update also includes:
It’s easier to join conversations with a new reply composer in the Tweet details view
Find new accounts to follow by tapping the new people button in the navigation bar
Richer search results indicate when there are new Tweets for your query and show account results with bios and social context
Report unwanted tweets via the “More” button
Grab the update and save some time clearing your Direct Messages!
