StumbleUpon, the social bookmarking service that allows users to “stumble” from site to site, has released a major update for their mobie app. According to the update, version 3.3 includes a new Home page and features Lists, Slide and an integrated Refresh.
New Home Page – Enjoy a newly updated home page with quick access to Lists, what’s trending, and social activity in StumbleUpon.
Lists – Explore, stumble through, and get addicted to following Lists that others have created.
Slide – Pull down to reveal cool facts about each page and why you’re seeing it.
Refresh – Quickly refresh any stumble by pulling down the page.
StumbleUpon is extremely addictive, so be warned!
Once you open the app, you can go right to Just For You to begin stumbling sites that fit your selected interests. Tap the StumbleUpon button at the bottom of the screen to stumble to the next site, and swipe right or left to scroll through your tagged interests.
A brief title and summary of the site will appear with the site in the background, and if you wait a moment the site will move to the forefront for you to check out. Hopefully the site has a mobile version!
If you haven’t already, make sure that you’ve selected your interests. Businesses can use StumbleUpon and specific interests to look for content to share with followers. The share button allows immediate sharing to Facebook and Twitter, or you can email or open in Safari for additional share options.
Finally, make sure that you’re setting up Lists for your business and sharing your own content accordingly. Other StumbleUpon users may see one of your posts in a particuarly interest, and then begin following you specifically. They can then view your Lists and see links you’ve submitted that way.
