Like so many other apps, HootSuite for Facebook & Twitter has been updated to be fully compatible with iOS7. With the upgrade comes a complete facelift, icon included, to bring a great new look to the social media management app. This has become, without a doubt, one of my favorite apps to use, and has completely replaced the native Twitter app for me.

Additionally, the HootSuite update includes a number of minor fixes:
– captions of image posts are no longer missing from Facebook Page streams
– rapid sync will no longer cause a crash
– Twitter user block and unblock works
– tab names can no longer be just spaces
– muted Twitter users now show time intervals
Gorgeous Design
The new design is, in a word, gorgeous. The app uses an increased font size, darker blue accents and more white space, coupled with a modern font choice, for a far more contemporary look and improved ease of use.
The tab headings now blend in rather than dominate the stream.
And note that accessing additional Twitter accounts and streams is just an easy swipe and scroll away. I can monitor mentions on any connected Twitter accounts, compose messages and so on, without having to switch accounts. I can also send tweets to multiple accounts simultaneously, or let HootSuite stagger them using AutoSchedule. I can even include Facebook and LinkedIn in these posts.
Search
The Search tab includes tabs along the bottom so that you can easily see Trending, Nearby and Recent hashtags and searches.
Just like within the HootSuite Dashboard on desktop, you can save searches as Streams, so if you’re regularly performing the same search, just save it and then all you have to do is tap that stream to see the latest tweets. This can even be used to participate in live Tweet Chats on your phone.
Compose
The new Compose box also looks great:
Social Networks are clearer and easier to select, and the menu choices are definitely better displayed.
