LinkedIn Passes 200 Million Members

LinkedIn announced today that the professional social network has passed 200 million members. It's a tremendous milestone and the announcement went on to break down how that membership is comprised.

For instance, the site boasts 74 million members in the United Sates, and 11 million in the United Kingdom. Interestingly, India has actually surpassed the UK for second place at 18 million members.

Google knows that more and more businesses are operating "in the cloud" and has stated that they want to make that process smoother for businesses. Today, in a blog post, Google has announced a number of new features for businesses and Google+.

Are Vanity URLs Important?

Google+ has announced in a blog post that they are going to begin rolling out "vanity URLs." They say, "Today we’re introducing custom URLs to make it even easier for people to find your profile on Google+. A custom URL is a short, easy to remember web address that links directly to your profile or page on Google+."

HootSuite Adds Google+ Pages For All

HootSuite, the social media account management tool, has opened up their support for Google+ Pages to all user accounts. Previously, this capability was only open to Enterprise level customers. Business owners are encouraged to use tools like HootSuite to better manage their social networks and internet marketing initiatives.
