We all know that a picture is worth a thousand words. Businesses have been advised for a long time now to include images of their business on their various profiles, including Google+ Local. That's the profile that interested customers see when they look up your business using Google Maps. What, then, is a complete Virtual Tour worth to a business? Two thousand words? A million?
One of the interesting aspects of Foursquare, to me at least, was that I would achieve points and badges for different check-in's to businesses. One point for checking in, a couple more if I'm the mayor of the location, and still more points for things like being the first of my friends, or checking in to five of the same kind of business within a week.
The popular Google Maps app has released an update today which allows you to search your Google Contacts. Users will sign in, and then be able to search for friends and family, bring up someone's address by name, and get directions to them. Note that this update isn't tied to your phone's Contacts, but your Google Contacts.
