WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO USE IT TO WIN BUSINESS

The following infograph does a great job of providing an overview of what Content Marketing is, how it will benefit business, and where to get started. Some of the highlights include:

What is Content Marketing?

Content Marketing is content that fulfills consumers wants and needs and brings them to you. Content Marketing can include Webinars, Blogs, Roundtables, White Papers, Social Media, Podcasts, Microsites, EMail, Video, Contests, Newsletters, Events and more. 9 out of 10 businesses are doing Content Marketing, and the average company uses 6 to 9 kinds of content. Social Media is the most popular.

Business to Business Content Marketing

Content Marketing is not just for consumer consumption. Most B2B marketers plan to increase their levels of content marketing next year. Over 80% are already using Social Media, particularly Facebook. (And this is likely to increase with Facebook’s efforts to integrate brands and eCommerce.)

Why Use Content Marketing?

It’s effective. Marketers reported a 25% increase in website traffic due to webinars, 32% increase due to Case Studies, 36% increase due to video and a 45% increase in traffic due to blogging. 57% of companies have reported acquiring a customer through their blog.

Where Should Small Business Owners Start?

These are the top five areas of content marketing to start on:

  1. Blogging
  2. eNewsletters
  3. Social Media
  4. Articles
  5. Video

When creating this content, most of your Social Media posts will include links back to your site for more information. This will help establish your company as an expert, as well as engage consumers. It will also generate volumes of searchable content.
