Google+ App Update, Pushes Chrome Usage

Google+ has released version 3.1 of their mobile app. This update includes:

  • Web links in posts now open in Chrome (if installed)
  • Teens can now join and create Hangouts
  • Instant Upload bug fixes to improve performance

Obviously, the most interesting aspect of this update is the fact that Google+ will now use Chrome by default, bypassing the iPhone and iPad's default Safari browser. It will be interesting to see if Apple takes any further steps to limit the ability of users to choose Chrome over Safari, or not.
