See who is retweeting you within the HootSuite Dashboard
Back in August, HootSuite wanted to kick their internal development and improvement into high gear, so they scheduled a two-day hackathon. "#HootHackathon is a two day sprint to build something new, fix something old or just create something awesome." Projects are wide-ranging, and inspiration comes from a variety of sources, but most important are HootSuite's Feedback Forum entries - comments and suggests and requests from HootSuite users. HootSuite made it a goal to build three of the most-requested features in the forums, and this is the first one.
See Who is ReTweeting You
Within the HootSuite web dashboard, you can see your tweets in streams that you might set up, and the dashboard will indicate how many times a particular tweet has been retweeted. Unfortunately, it's never allowed you to click through to see who was doing the retweeting. Now, the metric added to the bottom of each tweet, like "2 ReTweets" is clickable. Click it and a pop-up comes up displaying the users who have retweeted that post for you.
But Wait, There's More
More than just being able to see who has tweeted you, the capability is extended to take advantage of HootSuite's internal user profile cards. The usernames displayed in the retweet list are clickable and will bring up that user's card in a pop-up, giving you easy access to that person's Bio, tweet history, stats and even their Klout score!
In the screenshot above, you can see how three users retweeted one of my tweets from the other day, and when I clicked on Peg FItzpatrick's name, I was able to view her rich Twitter history and profile:
Monitoring who is retweeting your tweets and responding accordingly is a big part of a good social media listening strategy. With careful monitoring, you can identify potential influencers who are picking up on your message, advocates and brand fans, and other people whom you should consider reaching out to.
Interestingly, this has been a feature within the mobile HootSuite app for a while now, so HootSuite users can enjoy this capability wherever they are.
We'll be looking forward to the other features HootSuite plans to release anxiously, and will certainly let you know what they are when they're announced. In the meantime, I would encourage you to dive into my series on HootSuite: How to Make the Most of Your HootSuite Account, where we cover the basics like setting up your dashboard and scheduling content, to more advanced topics like Teams and more.
