Link Building for SEO

Link Building for SEOLink Building for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves a number of aspects. Google and other search engines look at each time a website includes a link to your website - these are called Backlinks. The more backlinks you have, the higher your website can rank within an engine. Search engines like Google also look at the sites that are doing the linking. The more popular the site is or the more relevant to your topic, the more that link is worth.

Local Directories

For businesses in and around the State of Missouri, we have created partnerships with two of the top directories in the state: ServiceNoodle.com and Missouri.com. Service Noodle is approaching 250,000 visitors each month, and is considered an authoritative site by Google, placing it in the top 0.05% of all websites worldwide. Missouri.com is the most authoritative domain in the state of Missouri and receives over 1000 visitors each day.

On both sites, businesses can set up complete profiles that include links to the business website and social networks, as well as links within their profiles to specific pages and sections of their site. Profiles also include categories, images and location information.

Directory Submissions

An additional way to gain more links to your website, and improve your search engine ranking, is to get your site and business listed in online directories. Similar to a phone book, most online directories provide hierarchal listings of businesses and organizations by category (i.e. Marketing Services or North America). While each directory is different, most allow the business to list the business name and contact information, description, link to website, and sometimes images. Therefore, each new directory listing that a business sets up represents an additional backlink that Google and other search engines will count.

There are millions of directory sites around the world, and more coming into existence every day. While a business owner can certainly create many free business listings themselves, most owners do not have the time to determine which directories are appropriate and figure out how to get their profile set up.

Instead, we can provide a monthlyl submission service that will identify for you the top 150 or more directories, and regularly submit your site over the course of a year to get your complete profile listed in as many places as possible. Not every directory accepts submissions immediately - many are on a schedule so it's important to have your site in a monthly queue to be as effective as possible. After a year, listings may start to be removed, and we are regularly reviewing and evaluating potential directories, so continued submissions are critical.

Local Search Engine Profiles

Each of the major search engines, Google, Yahoo and Bing, provide businesses with basic profiles that are used to identify where that business is located. The profile is driven by the business's name and address so that the business can show up in local place listings. Businesses must make sure that the address and map location are complete and accurate. Additionally, businesses can and should ensure that their description is as complete as possible, and images are provided, so that when a user does find them, they can quickly find out about the business and follow the map to get there.
